CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS

This program is for workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents in Canada.

Canadian Work Experience (CEC) program is one of three Canada Economic Class categories that is managed through the Express Entry System. The first step in this process is to meet the minimum requirements for (accepted Canadian work experience and language test).

Eligibility – to qualify under this program,  you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Language Test –  (has to be in English or French, must be approved test, minimum level of Canadian Language Benchmarks – CLB 7  for NOC O OR A jobs, CLB 5 for NOC B jobs, in writing, speaking listening and reading).  
  • Experience – has at least 1 years full time work experience within the last 3 years before applying – work experience must be legally obtained in Canada. Work experience gained as a full time student or co-op work term does not count. Work experience has to be in one or more within the Canadian National Occupation Classification (NOC O, A OR B)
    • managerial jobs (skill level 0)
    • professional jobs (skill type A)
    • technical jobs and skilled trades (skill type B)
  • Education – no education requirement for the Canadian work experience class, but some level of education can increase candidate ranking. 
  • Meet the job requirement for the specified skilled level as set out in the NOC
